Why Steel is Better Than Wood for a Bed Frame

Every architect knows that in order to build a successful skyscraper is to start with a solid frame. This frame should be able to withstand the weight of the occupants inside the building and weather the outside phenomena. It should be sturdy and in need of few repairs, as repairing the frame inside a skyscraper can be tricky. Just like you should feel comfortable living or working in a skyscraper, you should feel comfortable sleeping in your bed. This extends far beyond choosing a comfortable mattress into also making sure you have a bed frame you can count on. Architects choose steel as their material of choice and so should you!

The unwavering strength of steel cannot be disputed. Under heavy weight steel won’t splinter and won’t bend. You’ll never have to worry about the bedframe warping or weakening with age. Steel is lightweight, but durable. This makes the bed frame easier to move if needed. This characteristic may appeal to those who often redecorate or who move a lot. Even if you plan to keep the bed is the same spot, the initial set up of the bed will be a lot quicker and painless. You will also sleep easier knowing the bed frame won’t weaken and collapse in the middle of the night.

Steel is better for bed frames also because it lasts longer. Unlike wood bed frames, steel ones don’t rot. Wood was once a living thing and, even when treated, all living things grow old. Rotting in wooden bed frames can happen unknowingly until one day the frame is suddenly unusable. Steel bed frames last longer because they require no maintenance. The only reason you might ever have to replace a steel bed frame is because you’re interested in trying out a new look. No maintenance means less money to invest which is great because steel bed frames are also cheaper than wood when you compare the initial price. With a steel bed frame, you are putting less money in and getting more years out of your purchase. You will get your money’s worth out of a steel bed frame. It’s hard to disagree that this isn’t a great set up.

The sleek design of steel frames goes unmatched by their wooden counterparts. To match the strength of steel, wood bedframes often have to be created bulkier. Metal beds are ideal for small bedrooms, especially kids’ rooms where leaving room to play is essential. The bed is the focal point of the bedroom and steel beds offer many options as far as shapes and colors. Metal can be molded into unique and eye-catching designs, perfectly created to make a statement in the décor.

We spend about a third of our life sleeping so choosing the right bedframe on which to get a good night’s sleep is essential. Steel bed frames can be more glamorous looking, without sacrificing function. They’re customizable, durable, and cheap. Steel is a lasting investment in the life of your bed frame as it won’t warp, rot, or splinter with age.
